In the Time of Pandemic...

Here a gift from me to you! I found this beautiful poem by Catherine M. O’Meara circulating the internet and recorded it in to an audio as I wanted to spread it to be experienced with more of your senses. Listen to the audio above and enjoy!
“And the people stayed home.
And they read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still.
And they listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.”
I figure this poem is aligned with the direction and what many of us now deep down inside see as a possible and hopeful outcome of the Corona pandemic.
There has been a call for a shift in values, ways of acting, self-love and self-care for some time. In how to create space to breath, reflect and integrate between our multitude of activities and doings.
A call also for something beyond consumption and surface. Not to say there isn't beauty, richness and pleasure also in experiences and what is around us and that can be purchased. Still, this is more of a value orientation. What's important?
And yes, the call for community, connection, love and togetherness is stronger than ever! No man an island. We need each other. Let's continue to embrace that.
In the face of sever sickness, death, unemployment, bank bankruptcy and other challenges, we are all naked. No matter who we are. Undress yourself to the core and witness what the message is desiring to get heard, seen and emerge from within.
